Local Schedule Summer 2020
Enjoy high quality puppet theatre in a small town atmosphere with Iowa's only professional puppet company!
During this unusual summer, your friends at Eulenspiegel Puppet Theatre have planned an entirely different type of season! We've made friends with the idea of online workshops and shows and are doing our best to approach these with the utmost creativity. We invite you to exercise your creativity by joining us!
The summer schedule includes classes and workshops for all ages, live streamed shows including a new pop-up book show, and hopefully, before summer's end, a brand new Drive-In puppet show!
Thanks to support from HNI, ACT, Green State Credit Union, and many generous friends donating to the Teri Jean Breitbach Memorial Fund, we are once again bringing puppet shows to the area. Instead of the show we had originally planned, we are offering our new Drive-In Puppet Show to avoid the problems of distancing.
Summer Puppet Class!
Create a story, puppets, and a stage! Sponsored by the Muscatine Art Center!
Join the Eulenspiegel puppeteers in creating a brand new shadow puppet show about the animals around us and the crazy things they’re up to while we stay in! Write the story together, make the puppets and staging, and perform and record the show over Zoom! Kids...

In the Mirror: Three Tales From Asia is a collection of three folk tales from different countries in Asia. The tales are tied together by two themes: the wisdom of old age and the power of clever females. The show uses a clever stage that rises and folds out of a decorated box.
Kate Shelley's Train Rescue tells the story of the Iowa teenager who, in 1881, saved the train from plunging to a watery death. Created and performed by Stephanie Vallez, this exciting tale unfolds in the pages of two giant pop-up books peopled with paper puppets, masks, and rod marionettes.

Appleseed! tells Johnny's true adventures with the settlers, the Native Americans, and the animals and plants around him as well as the stories other apple heroes, including Henderson Luelling, who traveled across the US from Iowa to Oregon, with a wagon loaded with 600 growing apple trees, and Jesse Hiatt, the creator of the Delicious Apple.
