Godmother Death and the Water of Life

Perfect for your Day of the Dead Celebration!

Based on a story by the Brothers Grimm and incorporating Mexican Day of the Dead imagery and folklore, Godmother Death and the Water of Life uses beautifully crafted, soft-sculpted puppets and colorful scenes to tell this dramatic, life-affirming tale. The elaborately decorated staging is inspired by the altarpieces of the churches of Spanish colonial missions.  Created and performed by Eulenspiegel's Mexican partner puppeteer, Eli Portugal, her music and singing enliven this dreamy story while giving it a delicate touch.
